Dental Implant Cost — Downey, CA

How much does a dental implant cost?

One tooth starts at $3,500 with me, all-inclusive — bone graft included if you need it. A full arch starts at $20,000. You get your real number in writing before you decide. I’m Dr. Henry Qiu, UCLA-trained.

At 5D Smiles in Downey, CA, a single dental implant starts at $3,500 all-inclusive (consult, 3D scan, surgery, implant, and zirconia crown). All-on-6 full-arch starts at $20,000 per arch. Bone grafting is included if your case needs it, never an add-on. UCLA-trained Dr. Henry Qiu provides every price in writing before treatment begins.

The short answer

A single tooth implant with me starts at $3,500, all-inclusive — consult, 3D CBCT scan, surgery, the titanium implant, the abutment, and the final zirconia crown, with bone grafting folded in if your case needs it. A full arch starts at $20,000. Most of that price is surgical skill and lab work, not the hardware, which is exactly why a $10,000 arch isn’t real.

Here’s the part most price lists hide: the implant itself costs me only a few hundred dollars. The number on your quote is the planning, the surgery, and the lab. When I see an ad for a $999 implant or a $10,000 full mouth, I already know what got cut — the imaging, the titanium bar, the maintenance, or the surgeon’s time. If you’re replacing a whole jaw rather than one tooth, I walk through that math separately on what a full-arch case costs and what’s included, I price All-on-6 at $20,000 per arch because I place six implants and never four, and I keep an honest take on whether a cheaper implant is actually safe, because the trade-offs are different.

And if the number feels heavy up front, see how dental implant financing brings most cases down to a monthly figure — an option for qualified patients, not a guarantee. Before you finance a dollar, your free consult checks what a PPO actually pays toward an implant; if you’re on Medicare, I’m straight about what it does and doesn’t cover; and older patients on a fixed income can see exactly what implants cost after 65. The real cost is never the sticker price; it’s whether the work lasts.

Single tooth is all-inclusive (consult, 3D CBCT scan, surgery, implant, abutment, final zirconia crown). Full-arch and full-mouth prices place six implants per arch — never four — with IV sedation, same-day teeth, the final zirconia bridge, and bone grafting folded in if your case needs it. National ranges are for context and align with the ADA Health Policy Institute’s survey of dental fees; there is no single national price, which is why I write your exact number at the consult.

Pricing by case type

How much does each type of implant case cost?

Every quote at 5D Smiles is given to you in writing at your consultation. The number you see at consult is the number you pay. No surprises.

  • Single tooth implant — from $3,500

All-inclusive: consult, 3D CBCT scan, surgery, titanium implant, zirconia abutment, and final zirconia crown. No hidden lab fees. Bone graft included if you need it — never extra.

  • All-on-6 full arch — starts at $20,000

Six implants, IV sedation, same-day arch, and final monolithic zirconia restoration. Replaces a full upper or lower arch in a single surgical day. We use six (not four) for maximum bite force and longevity. Most patients qualify for 0% APR financing.

  • Bone graft — included if needed

Other offices charge $800–$2,500 for bone grafting. At 5D Smiles, if you need one to make your implant case work, it's included in the price. Disclosed in writing at your consult — but never extra.

  • Full mouth reconstruction — from $35,000

Combination of implants, crowns, veneers, and bite correction. Customized to the case — ranges $35,000–$95,000. Includes everything from consult to final delivery. Most cases finance in two stages over 12–18 months.

Why prices vary so much

Cheap implants exist. So do cheap surgeons.

You'll see ads for 'implants from $999' or 'full-arch from $9,995.' The hardware is usually the same — what changes is who's placing it, what materials are used in the final restoration, and what's included vs. nickel-and-dimed later. A $999 implant becomes $4,500 once you add the abutment, crown, sedation, follow-up, and warranty. Our prices are all-in. No surprises at the front desk after treatment.

Insurance and financing

Most patients pay $150–$400 per month.

Most PPO plans cover $1,500–$3,000 of an implant case. The remainder finances at 0% APR over 60 months. A $20,000 All-on-6 with $2,500 insurance becomes $17,500 financed — $292/month. A $5,000 single-implant case becomes about $42/month after insurance. The number most patients see at the desk is much smaller than the headline price.

What's included

Where does the money actually go?

Four components every implant case requires. We list them so you can compare apples-to-apples against other quotes.

  • 3D CBCT scan

$350 value, included in your consultation. We never charge separately for the scan — the data is yours regardless of whether you book treatment.

  • Surgery and implant

Titanium implant from FDA-cleared manufacturer (Nobel Biocare, Straumann, BioHorizons). The hardware itself is a small fraction of total cost — most of the price is surgical skill and lab work.

  • Final restoration

Zirconia crown (single tooth) or zirconia arch (full mouth) hand-finished by our local lab. The most expensive single component — and what determines whether your case looks like real teeth or like dental work.

  • Sedation and follow-up

IV sedation (when needed) is included in full-arch pricing, $750 extra for single-implant cases. Includes Dr. Qiu's cell phone for 90 days post-op and all integration checks at 2, 6, and 12 weeks.

Single tooth

What does a single tooth implant cost?

Covers consult, 3D CBCT scan, surgery, implant, abutment, and final zirconia crown. Most PPO plans contribute $1,000–$2,000. With 0% APR financing on the remainder, most patients pay $40–$60/month after insurance.

Why I can’t match a $10,000 quote

“The most expensive implant is the one you have to redo. The UV-activated implant I place costs me around $400 before anyone touches a drill — so when an ad says $999 a tooth or $10,000 a mouth, I already know what got cut: the 3D imaging, the surgical time, the lab, or the maintenance that keeps it healthy. I price every step in writing before we start, and I never bill the bone graft as an extra line. You get what you pay for, and with implants you usually pay twice when you pay cheap.”
— Dr. Henry Qiu, DDS · UCLA-trained · 2,000+ implants placed

I’ve rebuilt cheap full arches that failed and had to come out — bone graft, months of healing, then a whole new set of implants, at roughly twice what doing it right the first time would have cost. That’s the real price of a bargain, and it’s why I break down what All-on-4 really costs per arch rather than just quoting the lowest number.

The published data lines up with that. Implant fees vary widely by region and case complexity in the ADA Health Policy Institute’s survey of dental fees — there is no single national price, which is why a written, itemized quote matters. The ADA reports a 90 to 95% implant success rate over 10 years when placement protocols are followed, and the AAID estimates more than 3 million Americans have implants, growing by about 500,000 per year. In my own experience, an implant you keep is cheaper over 20 years than a bridge replaced every decade or two — the cheaper-looking option is usually the more expensive one over time.
