The jawbone is maintained by the forces transmitted through tooth roots. Without those forces, the bone in the missing-tooth area resorbs — typically 25% of width in the first year. Implants restore the load on the bone and stop further loss. The longer teeth stay missing, the more grafting is often required at the time of placement.
Adjacency, bone volume, and bite forces. When two or three missing teeth are next to each other, a bridge supported by two implants is often the most durable and economical choice. When the gaps are separated, individual implants are usually better. The decision is made after the 3D CT scan, not before.
From consultation to final restoration, most multi-tooth cases complete in 12–20 weeks. The variable is bone integration — typically 10–12 weeks after placement before the final bridge or crowns are seated. Same-day temporaries are placed at the time of surgery.
Individual implants from $3,500, all-inclusive. Two-implant bridges for three missing teeth typically run $9,500–$12,500. Final pricing is given to you in writing after your consultation and 3D CT scan.
