Trust & transparency

Editorial & Medical Review Standards

Dental implants are a health decision. Here is exactly who writes this site, who reviews it, and the sources behind every claim — so you can judge whether to trust it.

Who writes and reviews our content

Every clinical article on this site is written and medically reviewed by Dr. Henry Qiu, DDS — a UCLA-trained dentist who personally performs the dental-implant procedures we describe. There is no anonymous content team and no rotating freelancers. When a page says “I,” it means Dr. Qiu, drawing on cases he has treated at our Downey practice. Author and reviewer are the same credentialed clinician because this is a single-doctor practice — the person accountable for the words is the person accountable for the surgery.

How we source claims

Statistics and clinical claims are linked inline to named, authoritative sources — peer-reviewed studies (PubMed / NCBI), the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and, for coverage questions, CMS and KFF. We do not cite bare search-result links, and we scope every statistic to a time horizon (for example, “10-year survival,” not “forever”).

How we handle accuracy and updates

Each article carries a visible “Updated” date and a machine-readable dateModified. We re-review pages as the evidence, our pricing, or our protocols change — not on a fixed timer to fake freshness. If you believe something here is inaccurate or out of date, call (562) 923-4538 and we will review it.

What we will not do

We do not promise guaranteed outcomes, “permanent” or “painless” results, or a “lifetime implant warranty” — implant longevity depends on biology and maintenance, and we say so plainly. We describe a 10-year biological warranty on the terms it is actually offered. We do not publish identifiable patient information: every case is de-identified, and protected health information is handled under HIPAA. And we describe Dr. Qiu only as a UCLA-trained DDS — we make no board-certification, fellowship, or specialty claims he does not hold.
