Full Mouth Dental Implants — Downey, CA
A whole mouth of teeth,
fixed in place.
A fixed zirconia bridge that never comes out, not a denture that moves. I place six implants per arch, not four — four legs tip when one fails, six hold.

Implants placed
Full mouth dental implants replace all the teeth in one or both arches with a fixed bridge anchored to implants — not a removable denture. At 5D Smiles in Downey, CA, my approach is All-on-6: six titanium implants per arch carrying a monolithic zirconia bridge over a titanium bar, with same-day teeth on surgery day. Pricing is all-inclusive at $20,000 per arch and $40,000 for the whole mouth, with 0% APR financing, a lifetime warranty on the zirconia restoration, and a 10-year biological warranty on the implants. Placed personally by UCLA-trained Dr. Henry Qiu using the Vampire Implants™ Protocol.
What it means
Full mouth implants are fixed teeth — not a better denture.
“Full mouth dental implants” means rebuilding an entire arch, or both arches, on implants rather than resting a plate on your gums. A handful of implants carry a single fixed bridge of teeth — so you keep your bite force, your palate stays uncovered, and the implants hold the jawbone in place the way natural roots do. The whole mouth is replaced, but you are not getting 28 separate implants. You are getting six per arch, engineered to carry the full load.
This page is the map of your options, and it sits inside our broader guide to dental implants. Where you land depends on your goal and anatomy: a fixed All-on-6 arch to replace a full denture, both arches for a complete full-mouth reconstruction, or an implant-supported snap-in overdenture when budget or bone calls for it. Most patients are weighing four implants against six, and what each one really costs per arch. I map the right one for you at the consult, with exact pricing in writing.

Four ways to replace a full arch — and what each really gives you
| All-on-6 (what I place) | All-on-4 | Snap-on overdenture | Traditional denture | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed or removable | Fixed — never comes out | Fixed | Snaps on and off | Removable |
| Implants per arch | 6 — two extra legs of margin | 4 | 2–4 | 0 |
| Preserves jawbone | Yes | Yes | Partly | No — bone keeps shrinking |
| Chewing force restored | Close to natural | Close to natural | Most of it | ~25% |
| Price at 5D Smiles | $20,000 / arch · $40,000 dual | Not offered — see why → | ~$8,000–$12,000 / arch | Lowest up front, highest over time |
I don’t place All-on-4 — a table on four legs tips when one leg fails, and six holds. Every price is all-inclusive at our Downey office, and qualified patients finance up to $60,000 at 0% APR.
Who it's for
Built for the mouths other offices turn away.
Full mouth implants are for people replacing everything — not one tooth. Most of our full-arch patients arrive in one of three situations, and bone loss is rarely the dealbreaker it's made out to be.
Long-term denture wearers
Tired of adhesive, slipping, and a covered palate. We anchor a fixed bridge so teeth stop moving — even after years of bone shrinkage under the plate.
Failing or terminal dentition
Widespread decay, gum disease, or cracked teeth that aren't worth saving one by one. We remove what's failing and rebuild the whole arch in a single surgical day.
Told you lack the bone
Grafting, sinus lifts, and tilted posterior implants let us place anchor points in the large majority of cases — and the bone work is included, never an add-on.
Bone loss is the most common reason patients are told no elsewhere, and it is routine for me — I walk through exactly how I do it on the implants with bone loss page. One patient came to me turned away by two offices for thin bone and uncontrolled diabetes; you can follow her full All-on-6 journey from consult to twelve months out in pictures. The one thing I ask in return is honesty. I have had a patient swear he wasn’t diabetic, slip past our screening, and only after the implant failed did we test him at an A1c over ten — had I known, I’d have given his bone three or four extra months instead of running my accelerated program. So now I follow up hard on screening, because the single biggest variable I can’t see on a scan is what you tell me.
Why healing matters most on a full arch
A full-mouth case asks up to twelve implants to integrate at once, and most implant failures come down to poor healing — not the implant itself. That is exactly why I use the Vampire Implants™ Protocol on every full-arch placement: your own platelet-rich plasma, concentrated at the surgical sites, plus a UV-activated titanium surface. The UCLA research behind UV-activated implants shows 50 to 100% more bone-to-implant contact, with better blood flow and a stronger infection response — which is what gives diabetics, smokers, and patients with thinner bone a real shot at success.
Most implant failures are because of poor healing.
I built the Vampire Implants™ Protocol by combining Dr. Ogawa's UCLA UV-activation research with platelet-rich plasma into one protocol. That's why diabetics, smokers, and elderly patients heal like everyone else here.

UV-treated vs untreated implant integration (Ogawa et al., UCLA School of Dentistry).

*10-year coverage requires twice-yearly cleanings at 5D Smiles so we can monitor and prevent peri-implantitis. Patients who get cleanings elsewhere are covered by a 3-year warranty on the same biological failure modes.

Same-day fixed teeth
You walk out with teeth — not a denture.
On surgery day, under IV sedation, I remove any remaining failing teeth, place six implants per arch, and screw in a fixed set of same-day teeth before you go home. No removable plate, no flipper, no going home toothless. That provisional arch carries you through the 3 to 4 months of integration; then your final monolithic zirconia bridge is delivered once I verify the implants have fused to the bone.
The provisional you leave with is the start, not the finish line. If you want the hour-by-hour of how same-day fixed implant teeth go in, it has its own walkthrough — and for the decades after, here is how long a full arch lasts and what actually decides it.
Transparent, all-inclusive pricing
$20,000 per arch. $40,000 for the whole mouth.
Other offices quote a low implant number, then bill the scan, the graft, the sedation, the provisional, and the final bridge separately. We don't. One written quote at the consult is your final price — and it's also our warranty price. The whole-mouth (dual-arch) price is one surgical visit, one sedation, and one zirconia lab run — you are not paying twice for the same overhead.
- 45-minute consultation with Dr. Qiu and a 3D CBCT scan ($350 value)
- Six titanium implants per arch — never four — and the multi-unit abutments
- Your same-day fixed provisional teeth on surgery day
- The final monolithic zirconia bridge, reinforced with a titanium bar, that replaces the whole arch
- Bone grafting and sinus lifts when your case needs them — never an add-on
- IV sedation, monitored throughout surgery, plus the Vampire Implants™ Protocol
- A LANAP laser maintenance visit each year (≈$2,500 of value elsewhere) to keep the gum seal healthy
The number on the quote isn’t the real cost — whether the arch lasts is. An arch that lasts ten years costs you several times one that lasts forty, because a failed implant runs roughly three times the original to redo, and the bone you lose along the way can be the part you never get back. That is the whole reason I include the technology and the maintenance up front — everything that should be in your quote, and the add-ons high-volume offices leave out.
10-Year Biological Warranty
We back the biology — bone, healing, and the redo.
Zirconia teeth covered for life. Implant hardware covered 10 years. Bone healing covered a minimum of 1 year — up to 10 years for healthy non-smokers. Surgery, parts, and lab included on every covered redo.
Healing warranty term (1–10 yrs) is set by your HbA1c and smoking status at placement per our written warranty grid. Requires twice-yearly care at 5D Smiles to remain active. Not a guarantee of treatment outcome. Full written warranty provided at consultation.

What the research says about full-arch implants
“When you're rebuilding an entire mouth, redundancy is everything. A table on four legs tips the moment one leg fails — six legs hold. That's why I place six implants per arch, not four, and always put one at the very back of the arch so nothing hangs off a cantilever. Any force on a hanging end multiplies onto the nearest implant and eats its bone fast. Those two extra legs and that back implant are the difference between a one-time fix and a case I have to revise.”
The evidence backs the six-implant approach. A 2019 systematic review in the Journal of Dentistry (Howe et al.) reports around 96% implant survival at 10 years, with survival curves that flatten rather than fall sharply. The American Dental Association cites a 90–95% implant success rate over 10 years when placement protocols are followed — the deciding factor is surgical execution and healing, not the number of teeth being replaced.
