One honest note on comfort: nearly everyone sleeps through the surgery under IV sedation, and a full arch tends to be far less painful than people expect — most of my patients eat a soft dinner that same night. What I'm really building underneath isn't just teeth; it's a band of hard, keratinized gum that seals each implant and locks bacteria out. That seal, plus the bone integrating around the implants, is what turns a same-day arch into a result that holds for the long haul. What the research says about same-day implants

The evidence supports same-day done right. The American Dental Association cites a 90–95% implant success rate over 10 years when placement protocols are followed. A 2019 systematic review in the Journal of Dentistry (Howe et al.) reports implant survival above 90% at 10 years — which is part of why I place six anchor points and verify the torque on every one before I load an arch. Two design choices do most of the long-term work. First, with six implants I never need a cantilever — a stretch of the arch hanging past the last implant with nothing under it, which acts like a lever and concentrates force onto the nearest implant. I put an anchor at the very back of the arch instead. Second, the same-day arch and the final All-on-6 zirconia bridge are built over a titanium bar that splints every implant together and stops a crack before it can cross the zirconia. That cross-arch bracing — the implants supporting each other in all three dimensions — is what makes a same-day result this stable, and what I keep balanced with an occlusal adjustment at every maintenance visit.
