Will it hurt?
No — you’re fully anesthetized during the procedure. Afterward, most patients describe soreness similar to a tooth extraction, lasting 3–5 days. Over-the-counter pain relievers handle it well. Sedation is available if you’re nervous.
Can I eat right after?
Yes — soft foods the same day. Soup, yogurt, smoothies. Within a few weeks you transition to normal foods. Once your permanent teeth are placed (3–6 months later), you can eat anything with no restrictions.
What if I don’t have enough bone?
We may need a bone graft first, which adds time but makes you a candidate. In many All-on-6 cases, we use angled implants that require less bone — allowing us to skip the graft entirely. Dr. Qiu will determine this at your Consultation with a 3D scan.
How long will they last?
The implants can last your entire lifetime. The teeth attached to them are replaced with final custom-made permanent teeth after healing — those last 20+ years with proper care.
